Volunteer Sign Ups

America’s Most Patriotic Small Town runs on volunteer power for our Independence Day Celebrations! Sign up now to help make it another great year by contributing a few hours of your time. All volunteers should be 15 or older.

Please read these descriptions carefully before signing up using the form below.

Volunteers Needed BEFORE July 4th.

  • July 4th Program Book Delivery - Volunteer, preferably as a family or small to medium group to hand-deliver parade program booklets to a section of homes in town. Most routes take a couple of hours to complete. Books should be delivered between June 20th and 27th.

  • House Decorating Judge - July 2nd and 3rd. You can do this any time on those dates, make your own schedule. You will drive, walk or bike your way around town, visiting each of the entries in the House Decorating contest. You will score each entry and submit your scores to the ACC for tallying. Five judges minimum required.

Volunteers Needed ON July 4th.

  • Parade Banner Carriers - July 4th, 7:30 am to ~10:00 am. We have six foot banners for our sponsors and we need two people per banner to walk with them in the parade. You will be positioned in front of one of the bands. The parade route is approximately 2 miles and takes about an hour to walk, depending on the pace of everyone in front of you! Eight required.

  • Parade Street Captains - July 4th, 7:20am to 8:30 am. You will be responsible for getting one section of the parade lined up in the correct order on one of the side streets off of Amherst Road in the morning. You need to be comfortable giving directions to others. May require occasional loud voices. Six required.

  • Parade Marshalls - July 4th, 7:45am to ~10:00am. You will be positioned along the parade route to act as assistants to anyone in the parade who requires it, to help keep the parade moving, and to help direct participants. Six required.

  • Parade Judges (All Categories) - July 4th, 8:15am to 10:00am. You will be positioned at the judges stand at the High School. You will be responsible for choosing (along with your fellow judges) Best Overall, Fanciest, Spirit Award, etc. Three required.

  • Parade Guide (Babies/Bikes, mid-point) - July 4th, 8:30 am to 10:00am. You will meet with the Baby Parade and Bicycle Parade participants joining at the High School, give them their numbers, and walk with the Baby Parade participants past the Judges. One required.

  • Parade Guide (Babies/Bikes, full route) - July 4th, 7:30 am to 10:00am. You will meet with the Baby Parade and Bicycle Parade participants joining at the start of the parade, give them their numbers, and ride the entire route with the Bicycle Parade participants. You will be responsible for assisting the riders past the Judges in an orderly manner. One required.

  • Athletics Event Assistants - July 4th, 10:00am to 1:00pm. You will be setting up our fun family athletics event at the High School, and handing out ribbons. Four required.
