Parade book delivery instructions:

There are boxes on my porch (132 Chestnut St) labeled and in order by section number. Each box is supposed to contain 200 books though it might not be exact. Along with the section number each box is also labeled with the approximate number of homes in that section (based on best estimates from past years). If the number is over 200 there will be an additional envelope or box with that same section number and (theoretically) enough extra books to cover your section. There are extra loose copies to the right of my front door in case you want to take additional backup.

Inside each box are 3 copies of the map of your section with detailed instructions about where to deliver. PLEASE PAY CLOSE ATTENTION to these directions as you will often only be delivering on one side of the streets on the borders of your section. Border streets are where we tend to have 2 books delivered or none at all.

When you have finished your section please return all extra books to my porch (these will later be distributed to the apartment complexes). If you are unable to complete your section for any reason, please contact me with detailed notes about what streets you were not able to complete.

Some additional notes:

• Books MAY NOT be placed in mailboxes. This is considered a federal crime. Placing near the mailbox or front door is typically the best option.

• Please keep a close eye on the weather. If it is likely to rain before residents might be returning home, it’s best not to deliver. If you can’t find a dry day that fits your schedule, just let me know and we’ll get the section reassigned.

• If a house has multiple mailboxes (duplex, etc) please provide one book for each mailbox. Do not deliver to any large apartment complexes - these will be taken care of later.

• The boxes are quite heavy. I highly recommend using a wagon or having a driver trail you as you deliver.

• If anyone assisting you is collecting service hours and needs documentation, please let me know the time that was spent and I will provide a letter.
