Grand Opening - Audubon Historical Society Museum

  • Audubon Senior Center 247 Oakland Ave. Audubon, NJ, 08106 United States (map)

After more than fifty years in the making, the Audubon Historical Society proudly announces the opening of its own museum. The Audubon Historical Society Museum, itself a bit of history, is located on the second floor of the Audubon Senior Center at the corner of Oakland Avenue and Oak Street. The red brick building, once known as Audubon School No. 1, opened in 1905. There will be an open house to the public on July 4th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

The museum, which will feature Audubon-related photos and memorabilia, will always be a work in progress. A few of the cabinets will be permanent displays while others will rotate collections based on certain themes. The initial plan is to rotate twice a year, keeping the museum fresh and interesting. One of the current collections celebrates this year’s 100th anniversary of Audubon High School, with some items on loan to the High School for their celebration year.
